PA/NP -Psychiatry - Helen DeVos Children's Hospital - Grand Rapids, MI

Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital (HDVCH) offers an excellent full-time opportunity for an inpatient child psychiatry Advanced Practice Provider.

As an important member of the pediatric psychiatry multidisciplinary team, you will be providing care to patients on our brand new, state-of-the-art 12-bed, inpatient Medical-Psychiatric Unit (MPU) in addition to offering consultations on other inpatient units. The ideal candidate would be passionate about this patient population and have experience practicing in child and adolescent psychiatry.

Opportunity Highlights:

Primarily inpatient and consultation/liaison work

Strong collaboration with Psychiatrist and Inpatient teams

Consult liaison services provided to medical/surgical units, emergency department, and regional hospitals

EPIC

The successful candidate will provide psychoeducational support for patients/parents and health team members, will be able to operate independently in evaluation and management of consultation patients, and will be proactive and collaborative in providing follow up care to patients in the MPU. In addition, the new team member will be encouraged to contribute to program development, process improvement, and training of students and new team members throughout the hospital.

Qualifications 

Nurse Practitioner: 

Required Master's Degree Nurse Practitioners who obtained their education and certification after 2000 must show evidence of completion of a master’s, post-master’s or doctorate from a Nurse Practitioner program that is accredited by the Commission on the Collegiate of Nursing Education or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission 

Preferred Psychiatric Mental Health or Pediatric Nurse Practitioner

Preferred relevant clinical experience 

Preferred previous experience functioning in a collaborative role as a provider

LIC-Nurse Practitioner (NP) - State of Michigan  

CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS)  

Physician Assistant: 

Required Master's Degree Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant educational program 

Preferred relevant clinical experience 

Preferred previous experience functioning in a collaborative role as a provider

LIC-Physician Assistant - State of Michigan 

CRT-Physician Asst Certified (PA-C) - NCCPA National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants  

CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS)
