Location: Magee Women’s Hospital, with travel to West Mifflin and Hampton clinic sites.

Job Description: Join our dynamic and innovative University of Pittsburgh Physicians team as a Physician Assistant (PA) or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) specializing in Minimally Invasive Bariatric and General Surgery. This full-time position offers a unique opportunity to work in an academic environment with a focus on both bariatric and general surgery.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide comprehensive care in the outpatient clinic (45%), operating room (40%), and hospital rounding (5%). Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of five surgeons, three fellows, and eight advanced practice providers. Participate in research opportunities and contribute to the academic mission of the department.

Schedule:

Monday through Friday, with clinic/administrative hours from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM and OR starting at 7:10 AM. Occasional on-call and weekend rotations as needed.

Staff/Senior Level:

The Staff or Senior Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is a Physician Assistant or Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner and a member of the care delivery team. The APP is responsible to set the standards for the level and quality of care. The APP has responsibility, authority, and accountability for the provision of care through supervision by and collaboration with a physician. The APP manages and provides patient care activities for a group of patients and their families through the application of independent judgment, communication, and collaboration with all team members. The role of the APP encompasses the beginnings of leadership, partnership, collaboration, and supervision. The APP establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with physicians, other health care providers, patients, and their families, to achieve desired patient outcomes throughout the continuum of care. The APP begins to demonstrate a commitment to the community and to their healthcare profession.

The successful candidate will be placed according to years and months of experience for employment purposes. The posted salary range is for the Senior level which requires 3+ years of APP experience.
