Pack Team Leader

Job Description
The Pack Team Leader role is the leader of an operating shift responsible for the continuous improvement, training, and collective performance. Team performance is measured by the team scorecard and overall team skill development.

This role will not be an automatic Tier 4 Role, but will allow the Selected Technician the Leadership Path to work Towards a Tier 4 in the Decatur Tier Progression System.
Team Meetings/ Staffing

Is responsible for the team’s total collective performance in all aspects (Safety, Quality & Productivity)
Develop and implement a shift plan ready prior to the start of the team meeting that meets team commitments. Deploy resources in a flow to the work manner to deliver the business need.
Effectively uses team meeting time. Focusing on resourcing all the team’s commitments with team owners leading their ownership area.
Leads EOS and DDS meetings.
Measures/Tracks/Reviews your team performance (scorecards with gap analysis). (Monthly/Weekly as Required).
Ensures all line positions are covered and that adequate expertise is maintained at all times.  This includes vacation planning, overtime, etc.  Team positions should be rotated to accommodate training needs, result ownership, and meet career plan objectives.
Flow resources to broader work to drive out key losses the team is working on. Ownership of team skill matrix based on needs of the team (training, etc).
Ensures skill maintenance expectations are met. (Future State)
Ensures trigger list is followed for HSE, Q, Org, and Production.
Maintains Right-to-Run standards across Packing.
Maintains operational standards (CILs, CNTL, Sanitation, QA checks, and defect elimination).
Ownership of Time & Attendance Management in Workday (Daily Time Verification, Time-Off Entry, Absence Management, etc.)
Team Development/Teamwork

Completes work plans/1:1s with team members & coaches functional owners (SFL’s, QFL’s, etc.) on scorecard completion/delivery.
Ensures each team member has a training plan and that all barriers are eliminated to complete training, in order to deliver high performing and flexible self-sufficient teams.
Provides Feedback relative to all counter-productive interpersonal and operational behavior. Leads principle-based decision making processes to achieve win-win outcomes. Facilitates conflict resolution.
Interfaces effectively with Make, Pack and Ship to deliver effective flow of Feed to Ship as the customer.
Supports cross-functional communication with Logistics, QA, and HR, to meet various demands within the shift.
Provides balanced feedback (positive & improvement) based on observations.
Develops team on safe, high quality, and productive operations and ensures team continuously improves. Has a corporate level understanding of QMS.
Manages team masterplans, 90 day plans, and team scorecards. (Future State)
Collaborates with OC Leader to manage skill matrix. (Future State)
Works with OC Pillar Leader to plan and execute team building events.
Reinforce Accountability Model to provide feedback and grow team effectiveness.
Problem Solving 

Proactively works with team and leadership to mitigate operational problems before they occur.
Champions the use of SQMS tools to solve problems to root cause (why-why, AM, Breakdown Elimination, FI) as needed.
Provides improvement feedback in Production Planning/Scheduling Process.
Works with Process and Packing Technology Leaders to eliminate interdepartmental losses. (Future State)

Selection Criteria (required):

Strong leadership
Strong Collaboration & Communication
Maintained absenteeism rate < 3 absences in the last 12 months (3 Points or Less)
Not active in Progressive Discipline Process (Written Warning or Above)
In current department for 12 months
Must not have work restrictions that prevent employee from performing essential functions of posting department
