Function Job Description 

In Research & Development (R&D), your skills can be the special ingredient that brings our brands to life. As part of a fantastic team of scientists, engineers, and nutritionists, you’ll work tirelessly on product design or development, process development, quality, nutrition, sensory and food safety aspects to ensure we deliver a consistent, delightful consumer experience. A Mondelēz International Co-op within the Research & Development (R&D) organization is generally a 6-month experience. A Co-Op position within Packaging offers a tremendous learning opportunity for students pursuing degrees in Packaging Science, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or another related degree.  

During the Mondelēz International Co-Op experience, students are provided an opportunity to take a leadership role with assigned projects.  Most of the student's effort will be directed toward total project management, including packaging structural design, financial feasibilities, coordination and execution of packaging material testing in both laboratory and production environments and exploring new technologies. The Mondelēz International Co-op assignment is geared towards providing students with real-world experience. As such, Co-ops may be responsible for running plant trials, presenting project solutions to cross functional partners, creating samples, interfacing with external suppliers, selecting materials, identifying cost-savings opportunities and more.   

Many Co-Ops may have the opportunity to participate in training sessions with external suppliers and travel to Mondelēz International manufacturing facilities, distribution centers and other Mondelēz International R&D facilities. In addition to their primary responsibilities, students will be exposed to a wide variety of packaging processes, equipment, and materials and will work closely with cross-functional partners in Marketing, R&D, Operations, Logistics, Finance and Procurement.  

  

Requirements and Preferred Qualifications 

Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in: Packaging Science 

Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree with a preferred expected graduation date between December 2025 and May 2027. 

Applicants for employment in the US must have work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States and with Mondelēz International (i.e., H1-B visa, F-1 visa (OPT), TN visa or any other non-immigrant status.

Compensation 

The expected compensation weekly pay ranges for interns is $950-1,250.  

Compensation rates for Summer Interns is pre-determined and non-negotiable.
