JOB OVERVIEW

Join our team at KONE as a Packaging Development Expert, where you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of packaging solutions for elevator and escalator deliveries across North American markets. As the designated "Packaging owner," you will spearhead strategic initiatives to meet our business targets, focusing on creating innovative packaging solutions and driving continuous improvements. As a key member of our global packaging team and network, you'll collaborate closely to influence and implement best practices, ensuring our packaging meets the highest standards of efficiency and sustainability.

A desired candidate will exemplify excellence in project management and coordination, with a proven track record in delivering high-quality results. In addition, this individual must possess a hands-on attitude and a pragmatic, self-starting mindset, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines. The candidate should demonstrate proactive problem-solving abilities and be an efficient team player, adept at engaging with stakeholders to drive projects forward. A positive outlook, coupled with the ability to initiate and execute changes effectively, is highly valued. Knowledge of packaging markets in the Americas, familiarity with technical documentation, CAD/packaging design software, and experience in product data management principles would be advantageous.

Location: Allen, TX ~ Hybrid (2 days remote - 3 office)

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Act as a "Packaging owner"

The driving force to make a change toward strategy targets

Create material to sell new ideas and concepts

Support KONE's supply chain members in all topics related to packaging (including for example end customers, branch organizations, installation, component/material suppliers, R&D, environmental team, sourcing, logistics, distribution centers and external packaging designers)

Analyze quality feedback and improvement requests related to packaging

Manage packaging development in R&D projects (new product introduction)

Work to be done based on predefined change process and milestones

Includes schedule management, resource planning, business case calculation, design work, documentation (drawings, instructions and product data management system maintenance), testing & piloting, collaboration with and communication to several internal (e.g. manufacturing, logistics and installation) and external parties (e.g. product and packaging suppliers)

Run development projects for existing product packaging (Manage improvements and changes)

Run packaging changes due to product design changes, cost reduction, improvements for packing process, improvements for installation and quality.

Work to be done based on predefined change process and milestones

Includes schedule management, resource planning, business case calculation, design work, documentation (drawings, instructions and product data management system maintenance), testing & piloting, collaboration with and communication to several internal (e.g. manufacturing, logistics and installation) and external parties (e.g. product and packaging suppliers)

Participate quarterly and yearly planning/budgeting

Create and maintain roadmaps and action lists for Americas

Coordinate the activities based on the plan and do the follow up

Report the status

Work together KONE procurement and Supplier quality engineers

Support procurement for new packaging supplier onboarding

Support Supplier quality engineers for new product supplier implementations and issues with supplier’s packaging

HIRING REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree studies with preferable major in Packaging Technology + 5 years’ experience in relevant area.

Proficient in Microsoft Office tools

Understanding of packaging markets and good knowledge of operators and suppliers in Americas

Understanding of technical documentation and CAD/packaging design SW

Understanding and experience of product data management principles and tool is a plus.
