Packaging Engineer
Job Title: Packaging EngineerJob Description We are seeking a Packaging Engineer to manage package development requests from conception through launch. This role involves designing primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging, qualifying packaging through line trials and various testing requirements, and leading pre and post line trial meetings. You will create and maintain project timelines to support the timely execution of each project, working closely with Sales and Customers to develop new products through kick-off, development, and status meetings. Additionally, you will interface with Operations, Lab, Quality, Customer Project Managers, and Estimating. Responsibilities + Manage package development requests from conception through launch. + Design primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging. + Qualify packaging through line trials and various testing requirements. + Lead pre and post line trial meetings. + Create and maintain project timelines to support timely execution. + Work closely with Sales and Customers to develop new products through kick-off, development, and status meetings. + Interface with Operations, Lab, Quality, Customer Project Managers, and Estimating. + Use SPC and interpret run data (average, standard deviation, range, Cpk, Ppk, etc.). + Create SolidWork and ArtiosCAD drawings used for customer specification and sign-off. + Conduct unit cavity data reviews and make recommendations prior to moving into production. + Provide technical guidance for packaging, materials, and technologies. + Identify new and improved processes to reduce turnaround time for the New Product Development Process. + Qualify new materials and components as part of the standard product offering. Essential Skills + Proficiency in package development. + Experience with consumer products and manufacturing equipment. + Skilled in primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging designs. + Ability to use SPC and interpret run data (average, standard deviation, range, Cpk, Ppk, etc.). + Proficiency with SolidWork and ArtiosCAD for creating drawings. + BA degree in Packaging Engineering. + 3+ years of packaging development experience. + Experience working in the consumer products industry. + Experience working with manufacturing equipment. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience in the cosmetics industry is a plus. Work Environment Work onsite with approximately 150 people in a high-speed manufacturing environment. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams and requires active participation in meetings and project management activities.
