Packaging Engineer

While reporting to the Director of Engineering, you will be responsible for conducting packaging tests and evaluations per industry and customer standards.

What you'll be doing:

Provide quotes to customersCoordinate and schedule testing activitiesConduct tests per test protocols providedInspect products after tests, record test results, and maintain detailed documentation of findings.Invoice customer for services providedCoordinate the return/disposition of tested productsSupport Engineering and Quality initiatives by performing material tests as requestedMaintain lab/facility equipment in working orderCoordinate annual calibration of test equipmentCoordinate lab services with respective vendors (waste disposal, cleaning, maintenance)Comply with all lab and company safety protocolsOperation of standard material handing equipment (forklift, pallet jack and dolly)

This position is located in Nashville, TN.

We'd love to hear from you if:

Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field(or equivalent experienceGeneral knowledge of the functionality, and performance characteristics of a variety of protective packaging materials. These materials include, but are not limited to, corrugated fiberboard, shape molded foam, paper honeycomb, molded and extruded plastics, and a variety of tapes, adhesives, and fasteners.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Proficiency in using laboratory and material handling equipmentAttention to detail, organized and have the ability to maintain detailed recordsUnderstand relevant packaging industry standards and practices

Compensation: 

Engineer I: The annual base salary range for this role is from $67,040 to $75,420
