Packaging Engineer
Description We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for a Packaging Engineer in Fremont, California. In this role, you will be a key member of our team, focusing on the design and development of packaging components and artwork, design verification, shelf-life testing, and label design. Responsibilities: • Designing and developing innovative packaging and labeling solutions for both sterile and non-sterile medical devices. • Driving continuous improvement, assessing current procedures, gathering Voice of the Customer input, and identifying best practices. • Collaborating with a drafter to develop 3D models and artwork that enhance the customer experience. • Working in cooperation with various departments such as quality, manufacturing, regulatory, clinical, marketing, R& D device designers, supply chain, vendors, and kitting centers across different regions to ensure project success. • Incorporating quality into all aspects of product development and support, maintaining compliance with all quality requirements, and leading improvements to simplify compliance in complex areas. • Supporting audits, addressing non-conformances and CAPAs as needed. • Leading small-scale Packaging/Labeling projects or co-managing large-scale programs to drive changes across the portfolio. • Providing mentorship or supervision to technical staff as necessary. • Demonstrating development life cycle knowledge through the delivery of high-quality deliverables. • Supporting EU MDR execution and implementation on SNV products. Requirements • Excellent communication skills required for effective internal and external interactions • Proven experience in marketing methods and strategies • Proficient in understanding and implementing complex procedures • A strong understanding of compliance regulations within the engineering sector • Experience with payroll and budget processes, including planning and forecasting • Commitment to quality assurance and continuous improvement • Proficiency in database management and relevant software tools • Strong design skills with a focus on packaging engineering • Proven project management skills, including planning and execution • Experience in supervising teams and coordinating with different departments • Auditing skills, with an emphasis on operational and financial auditing • Experience liaising with vendors and managing vendor relationships • Demonstrable experience in the implementation of engineering projects • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal • Experience in clinical trial operations, preferably in a pharmaceutical or medical device context • Proven track record of implementing best practices in engineering • Extensive experience in the manufacturing sector, specifically in packaging • Knowledge of component selection for packaging engineering • Familiarity with labeling regulations and requirements in the manufacturing sector • Understanding of supply chain logistics, specifically in relation to packaging engineering • Experience in drafting and negotiating agreements • Proven ability to manage timelines and meet project deadlines.
