Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Packaging Engineer to join our team under the direction of the Engineering Supervisor. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in IC and/or electronics, new package design, and packaging engineering. This role requires interaction with subcontractors, including packaging and testing contractors, and involves applying RF experience and EMC knowledge to create and operate standards.
ResponsibilitiesOperate and create standards in line with RF experience and EMC knowledge.Design and develop new packaging solutions.Interact with subcontractors, including packaging and testing contractors.Conduct failure analysis and address manufacturing plant issues.Qualify specifications, such as lead frames, IC wire bonds, and bonding molds.Ensure all aspects of quality tests are understood and executed properly, including setup and procedural steps.Monitor and understand HTOL (High Temperature Operating Life) tests.Understand and apply MSL (Moisture Sensitivity Level) ratings, particularly MSL4.Requalify products as needed, especially when working with different or newly opened packaging houses.Essential SkillsIC and/or electronics experience6-7+ years of packaging engineering experienceExperience with new package designExperience in failure analysisKnowledge of qualifying specifications, including lead frames and IC wire bondsUnderstanding of high temperature operating life (HTOL) testsUnderstanding of MSL ratingsAdditional Skills & QualificationsExperience working with packaging houses and testing housesKnowledge and experience in wire bonding and die bondingAbility to interact effectively with subcontractorsWork Environment
This role is based in an office environment with minimal travel required to subcontractors, including packaging houses and testing houses.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $52.00 - $62.50/hr.
