Job Title: Packaging Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Packaging Engineer to lead and drive new candy initiatives within our confectionary business unit. This role involves managing the commercialization of multiple projects, working closely with internal quality teams, supply chain, and external suppliers to ensure successful project execution. The ideal candidate will create new guidelines, specifications, and review and approve drawings from the engineering team.

ResponsibilitiesExecute, lead, and drive new candy initiatives tied to the confectionary business unit.Manage commercialization of multiple projects, including sharing risks, timelines, and other relevant details.Collaborate with internal quality teams, supply chain, and external suppliers on project execution, capabilities, and overcoming obstacles.Partner with material suppliers and external vendors to ensure successful project outcomes.Create new guidelines as needed.Create specifications, enter them into the internal system, review engineering drawings, and approve for minting.Ensure print is within copy limits and adheres to appropriate specifications.Essential SkillsExpertise in packaging, packaging engineering, and commercialization.Proficiency in project management.Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering.5-7 years of relevant experience.Successful experience leading and executing a project through the entire product development lifecycle.Expertise with paperboard, corrugated board, and films.Good communication and organizational skills.Ability to be agile and flexible in a constantly changing work environment.Additional Skills & QualificationsHighly engaged and good organizational skills.Work Environment

There are approximately 400 employees at the East Hanover site, most of whom work a hybrid schedule (2-3 days per week onsite). There is an option for someone to work fully remote as long as they are living in the EST time zone. This position will require up to 20% travel to external suppliers and vendors. We offer free lunch for all employees and consultants Tuesday through Thursday.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $43.26 - $60.10/hr.
