Job Title: Packaging Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Packaging Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will lead and drive programs for our New Ventures business unit, including projects for Clif Bars, Enjoy Life Foods, and other allergen-free products. You will be responsible for leading projects from start to finish, creating new box designs, and conducting transit and evaluation testing in our lab in East Hanover.

ResponsibilitiesLead and execute programs for the New Ventures business unit.Manage projects from inception to completion.Create new box designs and conduct transit testing.Perform transit and evaluation testing in the lab in East Hanover.Generate reports in Excel and conduct basic data analysis.Write scientific reports.Conduct lab and transit testing, lead plant trials, and work with the operations team.Essential SkillsBachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering.5 years of relevant experience.Proven experience in leading plant trials.Strong understanding of the mechanics of heat structures.Ability to handle raw products.Excellent communication skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in commercialization, materials engineering, and films.Proficiency in Excel and data analysis.Work Environment

This position requires an onsite presence in East Hanover and involves travel to the pilot plant in Whippany and a vendor in Long Island. The East Hanover site employs roughly 400 employees, most of whom work a hybrid schedule (2-3 days per week onsite). As part of a small ventures group recently acquired, you will be working in a centralized team of 12 people. There are 40 packaging engineers within the broader group.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $43.26 - $45.00/hr.
