Job SummaryThe Package Engineering Intern will focus on three main objectives. These objectives include: cost improvement, winning in the e-Commerce channel, and quality improvement. These will be achieved through packaging structural changes to existing appliances. The role will involve collaborative work with cross-functional team members across the organization. There will be functional responsibilities for each step of the commercialization process, end-to-end.
**We have two openings, one for January - June 2025 and the second for July - December 2025**
Primary Duties & Responsibilities Project management specific to packaging development for CI initiatives with sourcing and suppliers Organize brainstorming sessions for review of existing packaging structures to identify potential CI opportunities Prioritize cost savings opportunities using risk assessment tools and cross-functional team feedback Learn documentation processes for packaging end-to-end design, including but not limited to: material, die lines, packaging assembly, bill of material, palletization Facilitate activities around the design and development of structural packaging containers for the e-Commerce channel Organize a reverse engineering cost exercise of competitive packaging structures within a sub-category Work directly with international vendors to improve material and structural performance through the packaging life-cycle Drive continuous improvement in the area of sustainability Other Duties as assigned by manager Education and Experience Profile Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering, preferably in Package Engineering Completion of second year in coursework is preferred Required Skills Proficiency with computer software including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint Planning skills with attention to details/accuracy Effectively organize and prioritize work information and tasks Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a team environment Ability to problem-solve including problem identification, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, effectiveness verification Effective written and verbal communication Goal-oriented and self-directed Work EnvironmentWorking conditions are normal for an office environment.
