Packaging Innovation & Optimization Manager

The Innovation & Optimization Packaging Manager is a key position of Cycles & Procurement - Packaging Cycle due to its high impact on business, through project management (innovation and efficiency) and process stream lining, with a strong drive to make breakthrough changes and support the regions and category buyers in deliveries.

 

This position will report to the Global Packaging Innovation & Performance Manager within the central packaging purchasing organization, with a focus on one side on innovation breakthrough projects related to Paper Based categories, but also providing frames for all the innovation projects in the packaging team but also contributing to x-category projects such us benchmarks on specifications, market innovation scouting. Support programs like SRM, P4G, DTSV are part of the responsibility of the team also.

This position is working in close relationship with Central teams of R&I, Quality, Marketing and Operations across Danone’s divisions.

 

 

 About the Job

 

 The ambition of the position is to drive innovation in the Pack team but also accelerate cross-category and pack transformation initiatives and to help the category managers in driving efficiency via a 360 approach.

 

The list of initiatives to drive (non-exhaustive) will be as per the below :

 

 (60%) Manage or co-lead directly innovation / strategic projects (60%), with a focus on fiber-based solutions and other alternative materials that may become of interest. When there are potential solutions not fitting in a well identified category, ownership to define the sourcing / strategy until it can be handed over to a category buyer

 

(20%) Co-Lead Packaging steerco - Governance for packaging team (R&I, C&P & Operations) in regards Innovation management.

 

(10%) Support on Packaging Performance levers such as Should-Cost, Sourcing Cycle, Strategic Relationship Management (SRM), Design To Superior Value (DTSV), and Complexity Simplification programs. These are existing programs and to define best fit. 

 

(10%) Lead X-category market innovation with focus on how to strengthen market scouting capabilities.

Education & professional background

Business school, preferable with a Supply Chain and/or Engineering specialty  Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in Project Management within Procurement, Supply Chain, or Research & Innovation (R&I), managing projects with significant cross-functional complexity.Strong Experience with Packaging and Project Management is needed.Experience in within strategic sourcing preferred.

Technical skills, functional competencies, and leadership behaviors

Recognized professional sourcing experience within Packaging and Innovation.Proven track record of implementing global strategies and initiatives.Strong ability to understand key procurement concepts in contract management, agency relationship and performance management.Collaborative by nature, experienced in forging strategic alliances in order to support business growth.Excellent negotiation skills with high emotional intelligence to navigate conflicting views.Strong analytical, including a high level of financial acumen.Results driven and action orientated.Empowers self and teams.Fosters collective impact through teamwork and diversity.Dares to challenge and drives for transformation.
