Packaging Machine Operator
**Job Title: Packaging Machine Operator** **Job Description** As a Packaging Machine Operator, you will oversee the operation of four machines, ensuring they run properly. Your responsibilities will include checking product quality, ensuring correct weight and labeling, and keeping track of products. You will occasionally load and unload packaging materials onto the machines. This role requires close attention to detail and the ability to troubleshoot and solve potential equipment issues. **Responsibilities** + Inspect equipment daily to ensure it is clean and sanitary. + Check metal detectors as instructed. + Conduct changeovers, replacing packaging film as needed. + Coordinate proper spicing with correct packaging film. + Check code dates for accuracy every 15 minutes. + Inspect bag seams to ensure strong seals. + Work with quality control to maintain standards and keep records. + Maintain efficient operation of equipment. + Troubleshoot and proactively solve potential problems with equipment. + Communicate with all production associates to ensure positive flow of production and accomplish packaging schedule goals. **Essential Skills** + Minimum two years’ experience in operating food processing equipment. + Thorough knowledge of machinery and sound mechanical ability. + Ability to use production computer programs. + Excellent written and verbal communication skills. + Ability to be an independent thinker and make good decisions. + Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under constant production line pressure. + Must be able to lift rolls of film weighing up to 50 pounds regularly during the shift. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + High School diploma or equivalent experience. + Experience with machine operation, packaging machines, and general labor. + Mechanically inclined with the ability to use measurement tools. **Why Work Here?** We offer a close-knit, family-like atmosphere where everyone supports each other. The facility and machinery are cleaned every Friday. For the night shift, the last half of the day is dedicated to sanitation work and cleaning machinery before closing up. The environment can be dirty at times due to handling chips and grease. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Algona, Washington. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $23.07 - $23.57/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
