Pay

$25.74 - $31.61 / hour, depending on experience and qualifications

Plus $2.00 / hr shift premium for 3rd shift hours

Job Summary

McKee Foods is seeking a Packaging Mechanic – Multi Skilled to join our plant engineering team. The Packaging Maintenance Multi-Skilled Mechanic performs multiple functions from basic to complex mechanical machinery and performs basic electrical skills. They are required to continually maintain and improve methods in the operation of the Packaging equipment to increase efficiency and prolong the life of the equipment.

Perform equipment setups for all packaging equipmentTimely failure diagnosis, trouble-shooting, and repair of all packaging equipment in a Multi-Skilled environmentTroubleshoot electrical problems and perform minor electrical repairs to packaging equipmentProvide technical assistance to ProductionRebuild equipment and components on a routine basisModify packaging equipment when necessary to improve performance and reliabilityWork additional hours, during other days or shifts, as neededPerform duties and fulfill responsibilities using proper methods that prevent and in no way contribute to product contaminationPerform duties and fulfill responsibilities using safe techniques, procedures, and appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)Operate all packaging equipment, required tools, vehicles and computers necessary to trouble-shoot and repairKeep maintenance records using the MAXIMO computerized maintenance system, forms, and work ordersCommunicate effectively and professionally with other technicians and personnel, verbally and electronically, in order to efficiently work as a team to repair and maintain all packaging equipment, and in order to inform customers and others affected by maintenance activitiesMust purchase and maintain all tools listed on the Packaging personal tool list, and additional tools, if necessaryMaintain a clean and organized toolbox, workbench, and help to maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary maintenance shopPerform other tasks, as needed, or when asked by supervisionDemonstrate knowledge of, and compliance with, McKee product purity standardsDemonstrate knowledge of, and compliance with, McKee safety rules and proceduresDemonstrate willingness and ability to accept and adapt to changeWilling to teach and assist Team members and others, and to be taught and assisted by Team members

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in Industrial Mechanical and/or Electrical MaintenanceExperience in Packaging Maintenance and/or as a Packaging OperatorProficient in reading blueprintsProficient at Analytical Trouble-ShootingExperienced WelderProficient with the MAXIMOPossess or ability to get and maintain McKee Foods LTO and Scissors lift licensesAbility to create understandable sketches or drawings of mechanical componentsPossess Technical School diploma or certification in an applicable course of study
