Packaging Operations Manager
DHL Supply Chain Contract Packaging provides an in DC packaging solution including primary and secondary packaging, POP, display, pallet display etc. We are seeking Operational Leaders with an eye for continuous improvement, secondary packaging and postponement production.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent, preferred3 years’ industry experience in Primary Packaging, Secondary Packaging, Custom Packaging, Manufacturing or related businesses and/or operations, required2 – 4 years’ management experience in a supervisory / management role, requiredOur Organization has a business casual environment and focuses on teamwork, associate development, training, and continuous improvement. In this role, you’ll be the guiding force for our dedicated Production Supervisors and hardworking hourly team members in the Packaging Department. Your mission? To meet and exceed our daily shift goals in key areas of Safety, Quality, Customer Service, Cost Management and Team Development. This permanent, full-time position will report to the Sr Manager Packaging Operations and duties include but are not limited to the following.
Lead and Empower:Provide direction and define job requirements for leaders and team members, ensuring they are equipped to reach their goals. Schedule and Organize: Manage shifts, work hours, and production lines to optimize productivity. Maintain Standards: Uphold consistent adherence to policies, procedures, and safety rules. Improve and Innovate: Continually review efficiencies, enhance processes, and recommend necessary resources. Staffing and Coordination: Evaluate staffing needs, interface with various departments, and liaise with external partners. Quality Assurance: Take ownership of the quality and quantity of production output. Equipment Maintenance: Oversee the upkeep of equipment in collaboration with the Maintenance Manager. Procedural Development: Write and implement SOPs and conduct training for both new and existing procedures.
The Skills you will bring to the team Educational Qualification : A Bachelor’s Degree or related experience is preferred. Experience : Minimum of 6 years of previous leadership experience in a high-speed packaging environment is required. Continuous Improvement Management : Experience in managing Continuous Improvement through KPI metrics (MES/5S/OEE/LEAN MANUFACTURING). Industrial Equipment Knowledge : Knowledge and experience with Powered Industrial Equipment. Industry Experience : Experience in a food consumer products & packaging environment. GMP/HACCP/CFR Knowledge : Advanced knowledge of GMP/HACCP and Code of Federal Regulations. Team Facilitation : Ability to facilitate work teams. Flexibility : Flexibility to support other shifts with advanced notice.
