This role is responsible for correctly, safely and efficiently packaging and warehousing salt products for a salt packaging facility.

Compensation: $20.00/hrSign on Bonus: $1,500
Principal Accountabilities:Operating salt conveying equipment, operation of packaging and related equipment, operating mobile equipment. This can include, but is not limited to, working with Slidell packing lineEnsures proper storage, loading and shipping/receiving of packaged productsStrict compliance with safe work rules, good housekeeping practices and specified FSQR policies / procedures / standardsInput production and downtime information into SAP and RT DUETTMinor maintenance and troubleshooting of equipmentPerform any miscellaneous duties as assigned including but not limited to:  minor maintenance tasks, preventative maintenance tasks, housekeeping tasks, product quality testing tasks, confined space entries (bin entries), repalletizing /  disposal of distressed products, etc.


Requirements:

Right to work in the U.S. that is not based solely on possession of a student visa or a visa sponsored by a third-party employerCargill requires employees be a minimum of 18 years old to work in a production facilityAbility to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 50 lbs, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting safely, with or without a reasonableMust be able to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions with the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc.Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above)Ability to operate machineryAbility to understand and communicate in English (verbal/written)Basic use of a computerAbility to work overtime, weekends and holidays with advance notice

Preferred:

At least (1 year) of experience in a production or plant environmentForklift experienceHigh School diploma or equivalentExperience with Inventory Systems
