About the role
The Packaging Planner is responsible for ensuring the timely and efficient supply of packaging materials necessary for the site. This role involves performing monthly packaging material replenishment planning, coordinating with sourcing, suppliers, and sites’ stakeholders to optimize the procurement strategies to support production schedules while minimizing costs and inventory holding. This role also manages the special label set-up in Singapore site, ensuring the specific customer requirement is fulfilled.Key responsibilities include
Packaging material planning:
Conduct monthly packaging material planning incorporating inputs from demand planning, tactical planning, operational planning, and sourcing. Communicate packaging material purchase requirements to sourcing and ensure alignment and follow-up on quantity contract (QC) coverage. Assist the site supply chain in adjusting packaging material plans and communicating with sourcing to ensure continuous supply and maintain service levels to customers. Perform regular review with site and regional stakeholders, on the safety stock level and replenishment parameters for the packaging materials. Provide help / information required when local team faces challenges on Purchase Order (PO) creation and / or execution.Special Label management:
Manage special label creation and changes, coordinating closely with customer service to handle additional labelling requests and ensure finalization and implementation readiness of new or updated labels. Monitor and follow up on label artwork finalization with relevant stakeholders, including Marketing, Quality Assurance, Regulation Affairs, Customer Service, Product Development etc. Serve as the primary liaison with suppliers of label equipment, printer ink, and label materials to ensure uninterrupted supply for local site production.Business collaboration:
Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to address spot commercial opportunities that require packaging material actions. Support efforts to mitigate slow-moving and obsolete inventory. Liaise with the sourcing team to provide feedback to relevant stakeholders (e.g., commercial supply chain, manufacturing, customer service, sales teams) on supplier capabilities and highlight potential supply bottlenecks for risk mitigation. Collaborate with sourcing team to manage and calibrate supplier service levels, ensuring supply schedules meet target inventory levels as per BC sourcing guidance and planning standards. Address and resolve supply issues, facilitating communication between the local planning and sourcing teams on complaints related to packaging material quality, service levels, delivery performance, and supplier relationships.Process improvements:
Support administrative functions and strategic initiatives, including supplier changes, alternate sourcing, and phase-in/phase-out of packaging materials in compliance with customer and regulatory requirements. Lead the phase-in and phase-out of packaging materials, ensuring changes are confirmed and communicated across functions. Support continuous improvement projects related to packaging materials planning scope/efficiency as needed Any other duties & responsibilities to be assigned from time to time relating to packaging materials planning scope/function.About you
Diploma or Bachelor’s degree. Relevant certifications (e.g., APICS CPIM) are a plus. Strong proficiency in English – oral and written Chinese Language – able to read & speak is preferred Minimum of 2 years of experience in supply chain management, or a related role within the manufacturing industry. Proven experience with ERP systems and material planning software. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Proven ability to multitask & prioritize in an extremely high volume/fast pace environment Proven ability to process variable inputs to clarify/follow up on incomplete & ambiguous information Proven ability to take initiative, overcome obstacles, solve problems and deliver consistent results Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
