Summary You will serve as a Packaging Specialist in the PROPERTY MANAGEMENT DEPT (63) NAVAL SEA LOGISTICS CENTER of NAVSEALOGCENKYPTDIVNUWC MECH PA located in Crane, IN. Responsibilities You will serve as Packaging specialist performing a wide variety of duties in support of the Depot's labeling, boxing, crating, storing and shipping of wholesale commodities and service-managed items. You will determine the packaging needs for shipping and storing depot commodities. You will resolve problems associated with new missions involving new delivery requirements, fragility or sensitivity of material, environmental conditions, etc. You will operate materials handling equipment, which may include, but is not limited to, forklifts with a capability of lifting loads weighing less than 10,000 pounds, warehouse tractors, stock selector trucks, etc. You will operate and perform operator maintenance on a variety of both manual or automated equipment in the completion of assigned duties such as computers, keypads, optical readers, scanners (bar code wands), etc. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.performing the technical duties of packaging, handling, storage, and transportation (PHS&T) for an organization. Examples of specialized experience may include: 1) Investigating and/or resolving packaging problems for an organization; 2) Interpreting and applying policies and procedures to packaging duties and assignments; 3) Reviewing and analyzing technical data in relation to assigned work; 4) Collaborating with team members and external customers as needed to resolve issues and complete tasks. Examples include: Versed in oral/written communication. Ability to interpret data. Ability to utilize software applications such as NAVY ERP, spreadsheet and other databases. Ability to control/catalog records. Work in a team environment.
