**Job Title: Packaging Technician**
**Job Description**
As a Packaging Technician, you will be responsible for loading boxes and cans, running and troubleshooting machinery, and ensuring the quality and integrity of our packaging processes. You will perform visual inspections, verify proper coding, and fill out quality checks accurately. You will also perform sanitation operations, communicate with warehouse personnel, and conduct package format changeovers. Your role will require you to operate a forklift, follow manufacturing principles, recommend SOP changes, and assist in training team members.
**Responsibilities**
+ Load boxes and cans, run and troubleshoot machinery.
+ Perform visual inspection of boxes to ensure proper box/tray is used and acceptable graphics.
+ Verify proper coding on bottles, cans, boxes/trays, and kegs.
+ Fill out process quality checks accurately and report defects or quality issues.
+ Perform machine and beer line sanitation and clean in place (CIP) operations.
+ Communicate with warehouse personnel regarding goods to be returned to inventory.
+ Perform package format changeovers using hand tools.
+ Load corrugate, labels, bottles/cans/kegs, carriers into appropriate machines.
+ Monitor the flow of materials into machines and clear jams as necessary.
+ Operate forklift safely and efficiently to stage/move/load/unload materials.
+ Follow 5S and Lean Manufacturing Principles and maintain cGMP compliance.
+ Recommend changes to SOPs when corrections are needed.
+ Assist in training team members as needed.
**Essential Skills**
+ Experience operating and troubleshooting machinery (preferably packaging machinery).
+ Ability to navigate computer programs to input production run data.
+ Must be at least 21 years old.
+ Experience with canning, bottling, and kegging equipment.
+ Previous bottle, can, or keg filling experience preferred.
+ Previous forklift experience preferred.
+ Clean driving record.
+ Basic computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
+ Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs.
+ Proficiency in reading and writing English.
+ Mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting.
+ Basic math skills.
+ Solution-oriented mindset.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Proactive and self-starter attitude.
+ Adaptable and able to multitask.
+ Strong communication skills, both verbal and via email.

**Work Environment**
The work environment is a warehouse with large open bay doors, occasionally exposed to outdoor temperatures. The setting includes very loud machines, requiring ear protection. The company places significant value on culture, providing great benefits and rewards to permanent employees.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Escondido, California.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr.
