Job Title: Packaging Technician

Job Description

As a Packaging Technician, you will assist machine operators in the sanding department where large roles of sandpaper are punched into smaller, round pieces for the ends of grinders and other sanding tools. You will move at a fast pace in all areas, assist operators with packaging materials, labeling, palletizing, making boxes, and other tasks as needed. You will have the opportunity to learn how to run the machines in the operator's absence, lift up to 35 lbs, and maintain a steady pace to meet production goals. Additionally, you may learn to pull orders, use the inventory system (scanners), put away products, and stage products.

ResponsibilitiesAssist machine operators in the sanding department.Move quickly to assist with packaging, labeling, palletizing, and making boxes.Learn to run machines in the operator's absence.Lift up to 35 lbs and maintain a steady pace to meet production goals.Pull orders, use inventory systems, put away products, and stage products.Monitor machinery and product with the operator.Calculate measurements such as weights and counts for all packed products.Document what goes on each pallet and shrink wrap the final product.Prepare products for shipment and move them to the shipping area.Use computers and perform repetitive lifting with attention to detail.Essential SkillsExperience in manufacturing working on a production schedule.Ability to work closely with team members to complete tasks.Previous machine operating experience for at least one candidate.Perfect attendance records.Reliability and ability to cross-train with a positive attitude.Why Work Here?

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
