**Job Title: Packaging Technician I**
**Job Description**
As a Packaging Technician I, you will play a crucial role in the warehouse by inspecting and packaging pharmaceutical products. Your responsibilities will involve creating labels, following standard operating procedures (SOPs), and utilizing computer systems. You must be comfortable working in cold storage environments, including freezers, as some pharmaceutical drugs require these conditions.
**Responsibilities**
+ Perform final inspection of work in-process and finished products, then pack these goods into appropriately labeled containers.
+ Scan labeled bottles, cartons, and cards using the PASS system when applicable, complete necessary documentation, and print PASS reports.
+ Assist Quality Assurance personnel and Production Supervisor/Group Leader in staging, scanning, and reconciliation of components as required.
+ Assist in the Labeling Department with the inspection of labels on an as-needed basis, if approved to do so.
+ Check components for accuracy relative to description, Lot#, quantity, etc., prior to QA issuance to the packaging line.
+ Participate in and complete all required training sessions for SOPs, quality, and safety.
+ Verify proper storage conditions and temperature monitoring of shipments.
+ Load couriers' trucks using pallet jacks.
+ Identify opportunities to improve overall quality and efficiency.
+ Engage in daily management and 5S activities.
+ Ensure that inventory is properly and safely stored.
+ Maintain the warehouse for safety, security, neatness, and organization.
+ Perform basic manual or automated equipment assembly.
+ Use stationary and/or hand-held machinery in multiple operations.
+ Accurately count and prepare packaging components to ensure proper accountabilities before and after job orders.
+ Perform primary manual or automated filling and packaging of blistered and bottled pharmaceutical products.
+ Ensure proper card and drug placement using various secondary card sealing machinery.
+ Monitor equipment for appropriate functioning during packaging runs and inform a Packaging Technician II or higher of any malfunction.
+ Label, assemble, and package pharmaceutical products.
+ Ensure adherence to specifications and the highest quality standards.
+ Accept or reject in-process clinical supplies and drug products according to acceptability standards determined by Good Manufacturing Principles, customer requirements, and Standard Operating Procedures.
+ Work with other departments to perform necessary tasks.
+ Perform tasks that may be verified by an independent individual or perform inspection/verifications of work performed by others.
+ Work in both primary and secondary rooms.
**Essential Skills**
+ Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
+ Experience with inspection and cleanroom environments.
+ Ability to read, write, and complete basic mathematics calculations.
+ High school diploma or GED.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Experience in a medical device or pharmaceutical packaging environment.
+ Comfortable working in cold storage and freezer environments.

**Work Environment**
You will be working in a GMP environment in a cleanroom under the Clinical Packaging Supervisor. The position requires comfort with cold storage and freezer environments, as some pharmaceutical products need these conditions.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mount Prospect, Illinois.
