Job Description

We are seeking dedicated individuals to join our repacking department in a large warehouse. Our facility provides freight forwarding services. The repacking department consists of a small team of 5-6 individuals who are responsible for unpacking, repacking, and organizing axles to ensure they are prepared for shipment. This role requires attention to detail and a strong commitment to attendance, given the small team size.

You will have the opportunity to grow into roles such as hilo operator, lead, or other positions within the warehouse. This is a union facility where you can join after 60 days of direct employment. The union offers pensions and benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage.

Work Environment

This role is based in a large warehouse that can be drafty due to the docks, though some spots have heaters. The lighting is a bit dim, but the warehouse is clean and organized. The floors have a garage-like feel. The team operates in a laid-back environment without micromanagement. The standard shift is Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 4:30 PM, with an average of 40 to 56 hours per week. Mandatory overtime may be required on some Saturdays, with a schedule of 6 AM to 12 PM. Breaks include two 15-minute paid breaks at 10 AM and 3 PM, and an unpaid lunch break from 12:30 PM to 1 PM.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Romulus, Michigan.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $16.00/hr.
