Prepares and paints surfaces of aircraft parts applying knowledge of surface preparation and painting techniques, using spray painting equipment, power tools, and work aids
§ Cleans, strips, sands and applies chemical solutions to prepare and condition surfaces prior to painting
§ Masks and covers surfaces not to be painted
§ Maintains a safe and audit-ready work area
§ Reads, interprets and applies shop planning, customer specifications military specifications and Quality guidelines and MSDS knowledge and location of sheets…..same as #1
§ Mixes and thins primers or paint to specified color and consistency according to standard formulas or color charts, using manual
§ Paints surfaces, applying specified amount of thickness of primer, protective, decorative, or finish coatings, such as paint, lacquer, sealer, or enamel onto prepared surfaces
§ Regulates controls on equipment to cure and dry paint or other coatings
§ Cleans spraying equipment and brushes with solvent
§ Monitors and verifies quality in accordance with industry standards
§ Monitors shelf-life items in the paint area
§ Monitors paint booth and ovens to ensure accuracy and reliability
§ Performs other duties as assigned
