Directly oversees all personnel in assigned area. Observes, promotes and ensures compliance of all rules and policies maintained by the company (safety, continuous improvement, leadership, core values). Required Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent required. 3 - 5 years of experience leading and mentoring 3 - 6 plant associates on a daily basis. 3 - 5 years of experience leading associates in an industrial manufacturing environment. 3 - 5 years of experience with spray paint application in an industrial manufacturing environment. Knowledge of Robot in Industrial Applications Knowledge of Paint Pro Software for FANUC Robots Additional Eligibility Qualifications 2 K paints, Solvent Based Paint, Water Based Paints, Powder Paint (desired but not required) Essential Functions: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Maintain and monitor all production materials and equipment. Verify the viscosity of the paint daily during operations. Perform inspections process to assure paint film thickness and full paint coverage. Make sure there is a proper amount of paint components available for daily use Notifies Plant Leadership when materials are low or equipment is not operating correctly. Cross trains in other complementary skills and seeks endorsements for those skills as needed to support production requirements. Moves between production assignments that utilize multiple skills endorsements as needed to support production requirements. Selects, prepares, and mixes solutions or coatings according to formulas and specifications Prepares and masks parts with fixtures, rubber, and tape prior to coating. Sets bake/cure oven controls for correct temperature and records time on process Inspects surfaces visually for defects and compliance prior to and after applying coating. Cleans and maintains spray/coating equipment, fixtures, paint booth cleanliness and cure oven cleanliness. Participates in continuous improvement of cell processes. Participates in the cross training of other technicians as needed to support production requirements. Work with Plant Leadership and employees working on 5-S programs, quality, safety, efficiency and on-time customer deliveries Maintain and monitor all safety procedures and PPE equipment in the paint department and surrounding areas Responsible for observing all applicable safety requirements and reporting immediately any unsafe practices/conditions. Ensures safe grounding of equipment and safe use of operating equipment Competencies: Must be able to work as a part of a team to achieve the company’s overall goals. Must demonstrate clear verbal and written communication skills (English). Must be able to read and process written communication including, but not limited to, work orders, frame prints, measurements, and schedules. Must be able to meet production goals and time deadlines for company projects. Must be able to work with minimum supervision. Must possess successful problem-solving skills. Must be able to exhibit tact and diplomacy and maintain professional relationships with supervisors, fellow employees, customers, etc. Must be able to work under physically and mentally stressful situations. Must be able to ensure that good housekeeping habits are maintained throughout the shop. Must comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas. This position is very active and requires 98% standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling. The employee may have to lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. This position requires Personal Protective Equipment. Protective Equipment supplied by the company includes Coating suit, Coating Boots, Spray Socks, Respirator, Work Gloves, Safety Glasses and Ear Plugs. Employees may be required to provide additional Protective Equipment (Safety Shoes, etc.). Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time hourly position.
