**Job Title: Painter** **Job Description** The Painter is expected to act with a great deal of independence and initiative in daily performance of their duties, continuously demonstrating and maintaining proficiency in all repair and maintenance related tasks. The Painter will be tested on their knowledge and be asked to demonstrate certain skills at regular intervals. The Overnight Painter is responsible for mixing, matching, and applying paint to various surfaces, completing touchups, and coordinating large painting projects. While this position is primarily hands-on, the person in this role is also responsible for developing, implementing, and documenting operational best practices. The Painter must deal with people in a manner showing sensitivity, tact, and professionalism. **Responsibilities** + Apply paint to surfaces including canvas, walls, floors, and doors. + Mix, match, and apply paint, varnish, shellac, enamel, and other finishes. + Scrape, sandpaper, prime, or seal surfaces prior to painting. + Clean walls to ensure proper adherence. + Cover surfaces with cloth or plastic to ensure protection. + Calculate amounts of required materials for painting projects. + Fill cracks, holes, and joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other fillers, using caulking guns or putty knives. + Perform minor sheetrock repair as needed. + Erect scaffolding, movable and immovable staging, and various rigging to gain access to difficult areas; move furniture and equipment as necessary. + Remove fixtures such as pictures, doorknobs, lamps, and electric switch covers prior to painting. + Apply several coats according to paint directions. + Tape off areas when needed. + Apply touchups or second coats. + Remove paint splatters when finished. + Clean up all equipment, including brushes and spray guns. + Utilize spray guns for large jobs. + Work on ladders to reach high ceilings or walls. **Why Work Here?** We offer direct placement with employer-paid medical insurance, paid vacation and sick time, paid holidays, an annual bonus, and contributions to a flex-fund account depending on the selected insurance plan.
