Overview The Painter is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the hotel by painting and refurbishing rooms, common areas, and exterior surfaces. This role involves preparing and painting surfaces, ensuring high-quality finishes, and performing minor touch-ups and repairs to uphold the hotel's standards of cleanliness and visual appeal. Responsibilities Surface Preparation: Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, scraping, patching, and priming as needed. Painting & Finishing: Apply paints, varnishes, and stains to interior and exterior surfaces, including walls, doors, windows, trim, and furniture. Touch-ups & Repairs: Perform touch-ups and repairs on existing paintwork to maintain a fresh and uniform appearance. Safety & Cleanliness: Follow safety guidelines to maintain a safe work environment, including proper handling of hazardous materials. Maintain cleanliness of work areas. Equipment & Supplies Management: Maintain and properly store painting equipment, tools, and supplies. Report the need for restocking or equipment repair. Collaboration: Work closely with the maintenance team and other hotel departments to schedule painting projects without disrupting guest experiences. Quality Control: Ensure high-quality workmanship and attention to detail, meeting both aesthetic and durability standards. Exterior & Special Projects: Occasionally paint exterior walls, gates, railings, and other structures. Complete special painting projects as assigned. Qualifications Previous experience as a painter, with preference given to those with hotel or commercial experience. Familiarity with various painting techniques and materials (e.g., latex, oil-based, stains, varnishes). Knowledge of safety protocols and handling of painting equipment and chemicals. Ability to perform minor repairs and touch-ups. Good physical condition with the ability to work in confined spaces, lift heavy objects, and stand for long periods. Strong attention to detail and a high standard of quality. Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
