Position Purpose:
Under direction, maintains appearance and life of buildings and equipment with proper industrial coatings; cuts and replaces glass, applies wallpaper, paints signs.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
Required to follow all applicable safety rules, regulations, policies, and procedures in performance of assigned duties. Is required to participate in all required safety training activities. Is expected to report any unsafe conditions encountered in performance of duties.Installs, maintains, calibrates, troubleshoots, repairs and overhauls electrical equipment. Also includes installation of instrumentation for Instrument Technicians working with Instrument Technicians, if necessary.Assists supervisor in implementing a preventive maintenance schedule.Maintains repair and maintenance records.Performs other duties of a similar level and nature as assigned.Prepare surface and apply protective coatings, including paint, varnish, non-skid coatings, etc., using variety of techniques – sand blasting, air and airless spraying, roller, brush, etc.Estimate square footage and amount of paint needed.Match and mix colors as needed.Cut and replace glass.Apply wallpaper.Learn and utilize new materials and methods as appropriate.Work Environment:
Generally, works weekday first shift, exposed to dirt, dust extremes in temperatures and humidity, heights, confined areas and odors.Work is performed in industrial environment involving exposure to dirt, dust, extremes in temperature and humidity, odors, heights, confined entry; may require use of breathing apparatus; generally, works weekdays first shift hours, on-call nights, weekends, holidays.While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions.The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.QualificationsEducation/Experience/Background:
High School Diploma/GED is required.Physical Requirements:
