**Job Title: Painting / Sandblaster** **Job Description** As a Foreman, you will lead a team in sandblasting and painting projects, ensuring daily work plans are created and executed efficiently. Your responsibilities will include maintaining a clean and organized work environment, handling equipment maintenance, and ensuring quality control in all sandblasting and painting tasks. **Responsibilities** + Create daily work plans prioritizing tasks, organizing resources, and determining time needed for each job. + Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including the blast bay and blast booth area. + Clean the blast booth daily to meet Air Quality Department inspection standards. + Perform regular inspections, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate repairs or replacements for sandblasting equipment. + Ensure proper sandblasting techniques and attention to detail based on project specifications. + Maintain accurate piece count and track time spent on each sandblasting job for project management and billing purposes. + Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth project execution. + Inspect and prepare surfaces by removing old paint, dirt, and debris, repairing imperfections, and applying masking materials. + Mix and match paint colors, apply primer, paint, and coatings using various tools, and monitor drying times. + Clean and maintain painting tools and equipment, dispose of waste materials properly, and leave worksites clean. + Stay updated on industry trends, new techniques, and best practices through continuous improvement and training. **Essential Skills** + 3+ years of experience in painting and sandblasting. + 1+ year of experience with cementitious waterproofing coatings. + Knowledge of surface preparation techniques including SSPC standards and NACE abrasive blasting. + Experience working in confined spaces and with industrial tanks. + Proficiency in using tools like spray guns, trowels, and pressurizing sand blast pots. + Ability to achieve SP-1,2,3,5,6,7,10,11,13,15 standards. + Capability to blast 150 sq/ft to an SP-10 in 1 hour. + Knowledge of checking nozzle circumference for wear and performing preventative maintenance checks. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Ability to coat 1000 sq/ft with minimal rework. + Skill in setting up, tearing down, and cleaning paint application equipment. + Understanding of airless spray tip specifications and proper mixing of coatings. + Basic knowledge of operating and repairing plural machines. + Capability to identify and correct coating defects. + Ability to calculate and measure required wet film thickness (WFT) to achieve desired dry film thickness (DFT). **Why Work Here?** We offer excellent benefits, opportunities for career growth, and a healthy backlog of work ensuring job stability. Work involves multiple sites in the valley, including municipality projects, waste water treatment plants, reclamation facilities, and heavy industrial facilities. Tasks may involve working at heights, in confined spaces, and handling large water tanks. Tools and PPE are provided, including safety glasses, gloves, and full face respirators, with a 1:1 swap policy for certain items. Proper care and maintenance of equipment is essential, and any lost or broken items must be replaced by the employee. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, Arizona. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.50 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
