The Painter Show Finisher will produce and maintain themed show sets, props, figures, and characters in a shop and/or field environment. The Painter Show Finisher will use multiple mediums and materials including FRP, butyrate, latex, oil base products, adhesives, urethanes, silicone, poly-mixes, acrythanes, enamels and black light. The field service position may include work from elevated platforms and confined spaces throughout the Walt Disney World Parks and Resort property.

The pay rate for this role in Florida is $36.49 per hour.

Responsibilities: Develop material finishes from documented and undocumented sourcesUtilize an array of materials and techniques to problem solve issues as they ariseAbility to use fur, feathering and sewing techniquesAbility to use resources for animated figure skin color matching to documented standardsCast members may be required to handle cleaning chemicals and supplies Basic Qualifications: Valid Florida drivers’ licenseCapable of working overnight hoursMinimum of five years’ experience in a scenic painting or related fieldExperience with silicone repairs and painting, plastisol/hot melt skin buttering, sculpting with various mediums, tree and foliage fabrication, fur and feathering techniques, scenic set painting, scenic treatments pertaining to attractions, airbrushing skills, and/or extensive hand painting techniquesPossess and present a portfolio reflecting past work experiences and projects of his or her work in relation to animated figures, skins, mold making, vehicles, dry brush, wash and faux texture painting techniques, and character finishes.Knowledge of human anatomy artistically and mechanically.Applied skills in fur, sewing, and pattern makingBasic understanding of black light paint and techniquesKnowledge of fiberglass and butyrate repairs and maintenanceSculpting ability demonstrating a variety of forms, subjects, and techniquesExcellent written and interpersonal communication skillsProficiency in standard office software programs and mobile electronic devices Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of the Walt Disney Company families of brands, including Disney, Star Wars, Marvel, etc.Computer proficiency in a Windows environment Additional Information: Schedule Availability:
