**SUMMARY** Provide support to the Public Affairs Officer (PAO) to inform and educate target audiences on Marine Corps Warfighting Laboratory (MCWL) activities and interests. **ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES** + Coordinate and communicate with PAOs from other organizations to include, MCCDC, MCSC and ONR and industry. + Plan, prepare and coordinate with other staff for visitors to the Marine Corps Warfighting Laboratory. + Assist the PAO in planning, preparing, and coordinating public relations meetings, news conferences, briefings, and information releases with the media (press, television, radio, etc.). + Plan and coordinate, to include personnel and logistics, enabling a MCWL/FD exhibit and presence at trade shows and public displays relative to the venue specific message. + Prepare focused topical media products in support of a specific message as provided by the G3. + Promote and support experimentation events and document experiments for use in public affair events. + Provide graphic design technical support. + Develop conceptual, strategic, and dynamic design solutions for MCWL/FD approval. + Operate and maintain audio visual equipment, providing for processing and handling of exposed film, production of video, and perform audio visual work in the production of training and presentation aids. + Develop and produce creative video storytelling that promote organizational interests and work of the MCWL/FD. + Create and produce a variety of printed and collateral materials, mockups, presentation boards and visual products that promote organizational interests and work. + Provide information, knowledge, social media, SharePoint, shared-drive management, and WEB design support. + Maintain regular and punctual attendance. + Perform other duties as required. **SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES** None. **Job Requirements:** **MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS** + Bachelor's degree in Communications or a similar discipline preferred. + Knowledge of Marine Corps public affairs operations and multimedia skills to include broadcast, print, video, and internet. + Must possess comprehensive knowledge of the Marine Corps, its missions, force structure, warfighting concepts, tactics, techniques, procedures, doctrine. In addition, must possess a working knowledge of the Marine Corps Warfighting Concepts and the combat development process. + Demonstrated knowledge of the Expeditionary Force Development System and the organization and missions of ONR and MCWL. + Understanding of the Marine Corps and Joint requirements development process. + Experience in military experimentation and integrating operational concepts and requirements into new and emerging technologies. + Knowledge and understanding of the conduct of military and Marine Corps operations (TTPs and technologies). + Working knowledge of graphic art principles, graphic design, branding, web design illustration techniques, use of typography, printing, and the elements of layout. + Must have an intermediate knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite. + Writing skills commensurate with article submission to military publications. + Must be able to work independently with little or no supervision, be exceedingly well organized and flexible. + Must obtain and maintain a valid Secret Security clearance (generally, this requires U.S. Citizenship). + Must obtain and maintain any necessary security access and/or background checks. **DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS** + Defense Information School graduate preferred. + Demonstrated skill in presenting information, verbally and in writing, to a wide range of audiences. + Excellent written and verbal communication skills to desired quals. **WORK SCHEDULE** Full-time. May be required to work additional hours as needed to complete assignment or project. **TRAVEL** The expected travel time is less than 50%. **DRIVING REQUIREMENTS** Must have or be able to attain a valid state driver’s license and be insurable on the company’s automobile insurance policy. Driving, with or without accommodation, may be required when traveling for training and/or short occasional amounts of local driving. The expected driving time is less than 50%. **WORK ENVIRONMENT** Work is performed primarily in an office setting and occasionally in a trade show environment. May be exposed to sharp objects, some heat, loud noise, chemicals, and vibration. Use of personal protective equipment is mandatory. Employee will be exposed to a wide variety of people in differing functions, personalities. **PHYSICAL DEMANDS** Frequent sitting, using hands/fingers, handling, reaching with hands and arms, talking, hearing; occasional walking or standing, occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs.
