Paper Machine Mgr.
Fully support the mill safety programs. Provide technical expertise in the daily operations of the department including assisting Operators in resolving gaps between production and the plan. Support mill process improvement and operational excellence initiatives. Convert the Business Plan to a daily operations plan. Analyze and allocate production losses. Work with the maintenance planners and supervisors to ensure operating plan and reliability issues are coordinated. Works with Area Maintenance/Operational Resources to plan and support outages. Develop goals and implementation strategies for productivity, quality, efficiency, cost control, and safety improvements for Paper Machine operations. Maintain harmonious relations with team members by consistent and correct application of contract provisions and company policies to avoid breach of contract, to ensure conformance to work rules and regulations, etc.; assist as needed in the handling of labor relations issues including grievances and disciplinary action. Help develop capital plans aimed at long term improvement of line operations. Provide leadership to the line while supporting mill vision. Assist in developing skills of Paper Machine employees. Point of contact for chemical trials, machine clothing and other operating equipment, etc. Supervise all production and quality activities for the line when on call for the weekend. Required to be on call during the week/end on a rotating basis.

Education & Certifications

Bachelor's Degree in pulp and paper, chemical engineering or mechanical engineering preferred.

Qualification & Experience

At least ten years of experience in paper mill operations on paper machine A working knowledge of process management, financial analysis, accounting procedures, and planning are desirable. Strong Oral & Written Communication skills Organizational & Interpersonal Skills Ability to consistently be on-call throughout the year at a 365 days per year running facility. Physical requirements include walking distances in mill operations, climb flights of stairs, and climb ladders.
