Paper Mill Engineering Co-op - Winter 2025 - 8 month term preferred - 4 month term potentially available

The Paper Mill Engineering Co-op will be based out of Macon, Georgia (1897 Allen Road, 31216). This is a temporary student position. The primary language of work is English.     We have an excellent student program ​at J.D. Irving with formal and informal opportunities to meet and network with people from all across the business, including other students. Job Requirements  Enrolled in Engineering Degree: Chemical, and/or Pulp & Paper Science Must have excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills The following engineering courses are applicable: Fluid Mechanics, Process Control, Heat and Mass Transfer, Physics, Chemical Engineering, Organic/Inorganic Chemistry, and Statistics The main duties/responsibilities of this role include:  Plan and implement units of product quality Perform continuous assessment of product quality  Assist team to resolve operating problems with process, maintenance, and plant engineering support Lead small project in process monitoring, investigation, and optimization Conduct statistical studies for operation review Work closely with production department to improve process and quality Follow safe practices at all times   What We Offer  Co-op fee reimbursement up to $1000, if eligible Opportunities to take part in job related training and development  Growth and progression opportunities within Irving Tissue and the larger network of the J.D. Irving group of companies  Signing incentives for full-time roles for graduating students who have completed a work term within J.D.
