The Commercial Real Estate Paralegal is responsible for performing support functions in the daily operations of the commercial real estate legal division by reviewing, gathering, organizing and processing information relevant to project files, drafting and reviewing legal documents, and preparing for commercial acquisitions and dispositions. The paralegal will assist the real estate counsel (attorneys) in all aspects of commercial real estate transactions by conducting legal research, preparing necessary documents like leases, purchase agreements, and closing documents, reviewing title reports and surveys, performing due diligence, and coordinating with appropriate parties on complex commercial property deals, all while ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Location: Brentwood, TN
Hybrid: On-Site 3 days/weekly | NOTE: initially for the first 4-6 weeks will be on-site daily once onboarding and training has been completed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%) Responsible for tracking and reviewing legal due diligence, including title reports and pro formas, ALTA surveys, environmental reports, plats, zoning reports, easements, and similar documents related to commercial real estate development and transactions. Draft real estate documents such as leases, development agreements, lease amendments and purchase contracts. Provide closing coordination and monitoring of key dates for fee development and sale leaseback programs. Manage the Portfolio Review docket in cooperation with real estate business partners and draft required lease amendments. Partner with members of the real estate legal team on special projects and initiatives as needed. Ensure compliance with legal standards and regulations and company protocols and processes. Experience:
3 plus years’ paralegal experience supporting commercial real estate transactions (leasing and purchasing in the commercial real estate space). Experience supporting retail commercial real estate transactions highly preferred.Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Any suitable combination of education and experience will be considered.
Professional Certifications: Paralegal Certificate from an ABA approved paralegal program preferred
