The Paralegal – Contracts Legal Operations is a member of the Legal Department. The primary purpose of this role is to help the Legal Department optimize its processes, as well as assist with drafting, reviewing, and negotiating firm contracts. The Paralegal also will assist in managing contract requests, updating contract templates, and generally ensuring compliance with the legal, regulatory, professional, and internal standards applicable to Moss Adams. The Paralegal will be called upon to assist with special projects as needed and provide general support to the Legal Department.

Responsibilities:

Review, draft, and negotiate firm contracts under supervision of in-house attorneys including nondisclosure agreements, statements of work, client engagement agreements, request for proposals, business associate agreements, data protection agreements, and vendor agreements
Complete questionnaires and forms including security questionnaires and onboarding forms issued by clients.
Update standard contract templates as needed
Work closely with Legal team members to assemble responses, create new/custom answers, and maintain standard language
Manage a central playbook database and build a system for periodically reviewing and updating the database
Manage legal intake process and support/responses to internal business clients
Optimize and manage contract workflows and lifecycle including implementing new software tools such as legal request intake and CLM platform
Improve legal operations by identifying, implementing, and managing new solutions, processes and procedures to improve the efficiency, accuracy, and productivity of the Legal Department including identifying software tools that may help automate manual processes
Ensure compliance with the legal, regulatory, professional, and internal standards applicable to Moss Adams
Identify legal and business risks and escalate appropriately
Support the attorneys and others as needed on projects related to firm policies, procedures, and risk management
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
Minimum of 3 years of related experience required; experience in a professional services environment preferred
Paralegal Certification preferred
Organizational and project management skills with ability to own and drive project schedule from start to finish, including managing peers and individuals senior to you
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; able to effectively prioritize assignments and competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to articulate complex issues to others such as executives and senior management
Strong ability to understand problems, think critically, and identify creative solutions
Experience across the lifecycle of contracting issues at a large company including reviewing standard agreements against a playbook, handling templates and playbooks, and understanding key issues that require attorney review and input preferred
Experience with the implementation of a CLM system or similarly complex platform preferred
Self-directed professional with strong interpersonal skills
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint); proficiency with Smartsheet and other workflow tools a plus
Ability to travel as needed, approximately 5%
