Description
We are seeking a Paralegal to join our team based in New York City, New York. This role primarily involves managing administrative aspects of legal documents, maintaining and organizing responses to subpoenas and other documents, and preparing materials for attorneys. This is a contract employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the administrative aspects of subpoenas and other legal documents
• Organize and manage responses to subpoenas and documents, ensuring they are accurately loaded onto Relativity
• Utilize Accurint and other databases for information retrieval
• Prepare necessary materials for attorneys for exams, depositions, and court proceedings, including conducting document searches on Relativity
• Take detailed notes during meetings and interviews and prepare comprehensive memos of these proceedings
• Use Microsoft Office Suites and other law applications to perform tasks efficiently
• Assist in the onboarding process and provide necessary training
• Manage customer accounts and take appropriate action as needed
• Maintain accurate customer credit records and process customer credit applications efficiently.
Requirements
• Must have a proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites
• Should possess substantial knowledge and experience with database management
• Must have experience in preparing materials for depositions and subpoenas
• A background in handling property and financial notes is required
• Previous experience in training and onboarding new staff is desirable
• Should have the capability to manage deposits effectively
• Must be competent in using legal software such as Relativity and Accurint
• Experience in photocopying and scanning documents is essential
• Must have a strong understanding of legal terminology and principles
• Should have excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must have the ability to multitask effectively and work under pressure
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are required
• Must have a proven ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
• A degree in law or a related field is preferred
• Previous experience in a similar role is highly advantageous.
