Description We are providing a contract employment opportunity for a Paralegal position based in Chicago, Illinois. This role is primarily involved in the legal industry, with a specific focus on medical malpractice cases. The selected candidate will be tasked with reviewing and organizing medical records, liaising with experts, and assisting with trial preparation. Responsibilities: • Review and organize medical records for various cases • Regularly communicate with experts for case preparation • Forward relevant materials to experts for review and report generation • Assist in the preparation for trials, ensuring all necessary documents and materials are ready and organized • Be involved in the process of ordering medical records for depositions • Coordinate with other team members for scheduling appointments and meetings • Handle any other duties related to medical malpractice cases as required • Ensure adherence to all legal standards and regulations • Assist in the preparation for depositions, ensuring all necessary documents are ready and organized • Use skills in 'Trial Preparation' and 'Depositions' to effectively assist in trial and deposition processes. Requirements • Possession of a Paralegal Certificate or equivalent qualification. • Proficient in Medical Malpractice law. • Experience in reviewing and organizing Medical Records. • Skilled in Trial Preparation and familiar with court procedures. • Experience in handling Depositions and transcribing legal documents. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Proficient in using legal research software and other related technologies. • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information. • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines. • Demonstrable problem-solving and decision-making skills. • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
