Description We are looking for a meticulous and experienced Paralegal to join our team in Richmond, Virginia. In this role, you will provide crucial support to our attorneys, specifically in our real estate and business law practice groups. Your responsibilities will include managing case files, preparing legal documents, conducting legal research and interacting with clients and outside counsel.
Responsibilities:
• Provide comprehensive support to attorneys in real estate and business law practice groups
• Organize, manage, and maintain case files and documents in both electronic and paper form
• Handle scheduling and deadline tracking; create and maintain closing checklists
• Prepare, review, and file legal documents such as deeds, deeds of trust, UCC financing statements, articles of incorporation, annual reports, settlement statements, closing documents, etc.
• Support title examination processes by interfacing with title insurance agents and collecting required documentation
• Assist with loan processes by interfacing with lenders and assembling documentation to meet loan requirements
• Maintain corporate records, including stockholder lists, stock register, meeting minutes and resolutions
• Create and maintain spreadsheets and databases for case management
• Conduct legal research and land records searches as required
• Navigate governmental websites for information and documentation purposes
• Prepare transaction binders to document a transaction
• Support additional projects as needed within the team's mandate Requirements • Proficiency in Corporate ParaLegal tasks
• Familiarity with Commercial Real Estate and Commercial Real Estate Investment
• Understanding of Corporate Real Estate procedures and regulations
• Experience with SEC filings and SEC Financial Reporting
• Ability to prepare Annual Meeting reports and Annual Reports
• Relevant experience as a Paralegal in a corporate setting
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of legal terminology and principles
• Ability to analyze legal documents and ensure their accuracy
• Proficiency in legal research and documentation.
