Description We are inviting applications for the role of a Paralegal, stationed in Grand Island, Nebraska, within the commercial credit industry. The successful candidate will be a significant part of our team, focusing on all aspects related to bankruptcy, from reviewing incoming notices to monitoring the bankruptcy progress till completion. Responsibilities • Efficiently handle the review and uploading of new bankruptcy filings received through various channels. • Utilize a range of internal and external tools to add new bankruptcy filings to our systems. • Identify and implement the next steps in the bankruptcy process, such as filing Proof of Claim, requesting Motion for Relief, or preparing Reaffirmation Agreement. • Act as the point of communication for internal departments, outside counsel, and collection agencies regarding new bankruptcy filings. • Engage with bankruptcy attorneys to gather necessary case information. • Assume responsibility for preparing and filing Proofs of Claim and Reaffirmation Agreements. • Engage external counsel for filing Motions for Relief from Stay/Adequate Protection as needed. • Attend creditor meetings as required and keep track of the bankruptcy progress till its dismissal, discharge, or closure. • Handle and respond to requests from various parties including internal departments, bankruptcy attorneys, trustees, or courts. • Maintain and update all internal systems with the progress of the bankruptcy. • Ensure a high degree of accuracy and completeness in entering all new bankruptcy filings and any subsequent filings. • Foster productive relationships with peers in other departments to facilitate efficient and timely transactions. • Propose ideas for process improvements within and between departments. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a paralegal role within the commercial credit industry • Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat is required • Familiarity with Automated City Register Information System (ACRIS) is a must • Experience with Case Management Software is essential • Ability to brief cases effectively and efficiently • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are necessary • Previous experience as a Corporate Paralegal is preferred • Experience with bankruptcy filings and bankruptcy law is required • Proficiency in PACER is a must • Demonstrable data entry skills are necessary • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites is required Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
