Job Description

A personal injury paralegal assists attorneys in handling personal injury cases, which involve claims for injuries or accidents caused by another party. The role requires a combination of legal knowledge and administrative skills to support attorneys effectively.

ResponsibilitiesAssist in Investigations: Gather evidence and documentation such as medical records, accident reports, and witness statements.Prepare Legal Documents: Draft and proofread pleadings, motions, and other court-required paperwork.Manage Case Files: Organize and maintain case files, ensuring all important information is accurately recorded and easily accessible.Coordinate with Medical Providers: Ensure clients are receiving appropriate treatment and manage correspondence with medical professionals.Client Communication: Maintain relationships with clients, keeping them updated on case progress and addressing their concerns.Trial Preparation: Assist attorneys in preparing for trials, hearings, mediations, and depositions.Calculate Damages: Assess past and future medical expenses, loss of earnings, and pain and suffering.Essential SkillsDrafting motions - Draft the motion, ensuring it follows legal standards and guidelines, including proper formatting and precise legal language.E-filing - Submitting legal documents electronically to the court system.Personal injury case managementLegal administrative supportFiling and organizing legal documentsParalegal skillsLegal document preparationLegal supportLegal administrationLegal contractsAdditional Skills & Qualifications3+ years of paralegal experienceAssociates Degree minimum requiredWork Environment

The work environment consists of a small legal team of about 5 people. The dress code is business professional. Typical hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with the expectation to come in early and stay late as needed. The organization offers a great environment with room to grow.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00
