Description We are seeking a Paralegal to join our team in Chicago, Illinois. This role will focus on managing a full case load from intake to litigation, supporting our birth injury practice group. You will handle multiple priorities in a dynamic environment and serve as the key point of contact for clients and vendors. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity. Responsibilities: • Engage in legal research using tools such as Westlaw, LexisNexis, PACER, and various search engines • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and vendors, professionally communicating over the phone and in person • Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence for assigned cases through electronic and paper mail • File court documents using state and federal court platforms • Maintain and manage case calendars • Process requests for medical and collateral source records • Organize client documents and coordinate document productions • Prepare for deposition proceedings, including retention of court reporters, witness file preparation, and transcript digestion • Prepare and schedule expert phone conferences and evaluations • Assemble and collate medical record binders, exhibits, and legal documents • Attend case strategy meetings • Transcribe deposition consultations with experts • Proofread and cite-check legal documents to ensure compliance with local and federal court rules • Prepare summons and complaints, answers to interrogatories, fact sheets, exhibit lists, subpoenas, deposition summaries, and supporting court filing materials. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Paralegal • Proficiency in using Aderant, Adobe Acrobat, and Automated City Register Information System (ACRIS) • Familiarity with Case Management Software and CompuLaw • Ability to handle billing functions effectively • Experience in briefing and calendar management • Proven skills in claim administration • Excellent communication skills • Knowledge in Medical Malpractice, Civil Litigation, Personal Injury Law, and Personal Injury Litigation • Experience in handling Personal Injury Plaintiffs • Proficiency in e-Filing, Court Filing, and managing Court Filings Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
