Are you an experienced eDiscovery Paralegal looking to make an impact in the public sector? A government agency in the Bay Area is seeking a highly skilled professional to assist their legal team in managing eDiscovery matters. This fully remote opportunity allows candidates to work from anywhere in California.
Position Overview
As an eDiscovery Paralegal, you will play a vital role in supporting litigation and compliance efforts through expert use of eDiscovery platforms, including Relativity. Additionally, you will facilitate the processing of records requests under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and the California Public Records Act (CPRA). This is a dynamic role that demands strong organizational, analytical, and technical skills and the ability to meet critical deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
+ Manage eDiscovery processes, including data collection, review, and production, using Relativity and related technologies.
+ Collaborate with legal teams to prepare documents for litigation, public record requests, and audits.
+ Coordinate and process Public Records Act (CPRA) and FOIA requests, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
+ Create and maintain detailed documentation, including privilege logs and review notes.
+ Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, law firms, and external vendors as needed.
+ Monitor and stay compliant with evolving legal standards related to eDiscovery, FOIA, and CPRA requirements.
Requirements
Qualifications
+ A minimum of 3+ years of experience in eDiscovery/paralegal work within a law firm, government, or corporate setting.
+ Proficiency with Relativity and other leading eDiscovery tools is required.
+ Strong understanding of FOIA and California Public Records Act (CPRA) compliance requirements.
+ Bachelor’s degree or associate degree in paralegal studies (certificate in Paralegal Studies preferred).
+ Resides within California to accommodate legal and jurisdictional requirements.
