Description We are looking for a meticulous and dedicated Paralegal to join our team in the legal industry, based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. As a Paralegal, you will be pivotal in supporting our attorneys from the start to the end of litigation cases. You will be involved in a variety of tasks including research, analysis, drafting legal documents and managing case files.
Responsibilities
• Conduct comprehensive research and analysis on medical records, depositions, and materials related to asbestos litigation cases
• Draft and review legal documents such as pleadings, subpoenas, discovery responses, and motions, making sure they comply with court requirements and deadlines
• Oversee and organize case files, including maintaining both physical and electronic documents
• Prepare for depositions, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials by assembling exhibits, chronologies, and trial notebooks
• Collaborate with experts, witnesses, clients, and attorneys to gather and manage essential case information
• Monitor litigation calendars and deadlines to ensure timely filings and provide necessary reminders to the legal team
• Utilize eDiscovery tools and manage the e-filing process for both state and federal courts
• Use your proficiency in Aderant, Adobe Acrobat, Automated City Register Information System (ACRIS), Case Management Software, CompuLaw, Billing Functions, Briefing, Calendar Management, Claim Administration, and Communication to effectively manage cases related to asbestos litigation and mass tort. Requirements • Applicant must have at least 5 years of experience in a paralegal role
• Proficiency in Aderant software is required
• Experience with Adobe Acrobat is necessary
• Familiarity with the Automated City Register Information System (ACRIS) is preferred
• Ability to use Case Management Software efficiently is expected
• Knowledge of CompuLaw is a must
• Capability to handle billing functions effectively is required
• Experience in briefing is preferred
• Proficiency in calendar management is necessary
• Ability to administer claims effectively is a prerequisite
• Strong communication skills are expected
• Experience in asbestos litigation is preferred
• Background in mass tort is a plus
