Paralegal - Commercial Litigation
Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Paralegal - Commercial Litigation, based in Atlanta, Georgia. This role is primarily involved in the Commercial Litigation industry and involves a wide array of responsibilities, from drafting initial letters and pleadings to managing service of process of filed litigation. Responsibilities: • Prepare initial drafts of letters, pleadings, discovery and responses in relation to commercial real estate, business and contract disputes. • Compile and file (including e-filing) complaints, motions and briefs in various courts using an array of systems. • Manage service of process of filed litigation, calendar critical deadlines and dates, and maintain status reports of pending litigation and matters. • Liaise with court, clerk and sheriff’s department staff concerning pending litigation. • E-file real estate documents in county deed and lien records using specific system. • Administer document review, redaction and production using cloud-based software. • Monitor bankruptcy court dockets and prepare and file proofs of claim in bankruptcy. • Conduct online research regarding assets, whereabouts, incorporation, deeds, liens, etc. • Order title and surveys in connection with real estate foreclosures, evictions and lien searches. • Manage an index of judgment liens. • Track and input time for billing purposes on a daily basis. • Communicate with clients via email and phone. Requirements • Candidate must hold a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role within the legal sector • Proficient in Business & Commercial Law • Proficient in Commercial Litigation • Must possess a degree in law or a related field from a recognized institution • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Strong research and analytical skills • Familiarity with legal databases and software • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team • Adept at handling multiple tasks and meeting deadlines • Must demonstrate a high level of professionalism and confidentiality • Excellent organizational and time management skills • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint • Strong attention to detail and accuracy • Proven ability to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner.
