Paralegal EOIR/BIA
Position Description:

CGI Federal is seeking a Paralegal to support the Executive Office of Immigration Review, office located in Falls Church, VA
This position is located in USA VA Falls Church -- USAVAFAL01.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
• Draft legal correspondence/memos
• Posting legal Standing Orders for the Office of the Chief Immigration Judge and disseminating the standing orders to the public using gov delivery system
• Disseminating OCAHO, BIA, Amicus Invitations, AG, and Director Decisions to the public using gov delivery system and via social media
• Editing the Policy Manual on the public website
• Drafting, Compiling, and Finalizing the EOIR Submission for the Office of the Deputy Attorney General – Weekly Researching, analyzing, proofreading, editing, and disseminating the weekly Policy Bulletin to All EOIR Attorneys and Judges
• Researching disciplined practitioner court rulings, writing Disciplined Practitioner Announcements, and disseminating via gov delivery and social media.
• Editing EOIR’s website
• Researching, analyzing, and writing responses for congressional and stakeholder correspondence
• Reviewing legislation, legal decisions, and summarizing impact
• Drafting press releases based on legal decisions/matter
• Writing/Reviewing/analyzing headnotes for OCAHO, BIA decisions
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
• Editing and proofreading skills required.
• Strong writing skills in a legal environment
• JD or paralegal certificate preferred but not required
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• Ability to screen cases – substantive review, identifying legal issues
• Ability to write short orders on procedural issues
• Must be comfortable with legal research and legal citations
Hourly Rate: $31.69/hour
CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors including but not limited to: skill set level, relevant experience and training, and licensure and certifications. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
