Job Description:Education:
High School diploma or equivalent requiredBachelor’s degree or paralegal certificate preferredWork Experiences:
At least 5 years of relevant experienceExperience with commercial contracting, legal operations, or a combination thereofExperience with data privacy and/or intellectual property a plusSkills:
Strong understanding of commercial contracting principlesStrong technical aptitude with case management systems (Legal Tracker, Exterro, Navex) and document management software (Conga, iManage)Proficient use of Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, and PowerPointAbility to remain organized, pay strict attention to detail, and meet critical deadlinesExcellent time management skills, ability to support multiple legal professionals, and effectively manage a large volume of workAbility to operate professionally, effectively, and ethically as an individual contributor and member of a teamAbility to identify key legal issues and develop proposed solutions; Using judgment and discretion in identifying issues for escalationConsistently operate with the highest level of discernment and confidentialityAbility to anticipate deadlines and next steps, and act on them proactivelySelf-motivated, with the ability to meet and exceed position requirements under minimal direction and supervisionAnalytical, with strong problem-solving abilities and creative resolution skillsStrong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to deliver messages both persuasively and conciselyResponsibilities:
Document collection, preparation, processingMatter in-takeMatter workflow/negotiation, and management with some attorney oversightIndependently draft select documents from key termsFinalize documents, and collect signatures, including using e-signature platformsAssist in planning, developing, and leading inter-departmental meetings and trainingManage business partner relationshipsConduct thorough legal research of intermediate legal issues and effectively present legal analysisCollect, organize, and maintain legal documents in a confidential and secure mannerAssist in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of documents, including master agreements, and statements of work for various services and goodsCollaborate with stakeholders to identify and mitigate potential risks in contracts and transactionPrepare contract summaries and risk assessmentsEvaluate current workflows and processes, including contract lifecycle management, and identify opportunities for process improvements and develop solutions to streamline process, and operationalize efficienciesSupport change management initiativesCreate and maintain standardized templates, checklists, guidelines, best practices and workflows to support contract negotiation workflowsEnsure all legal documents and knowledge resources are organized and accessible for reference by the legal teamAssist in evaluating legal technology tools to support process and workflow improvementsReview, analyze, negotiate and process invoices and check requests to ensure timely payment in accordance with legal department guidelinesMetrics tracking and reportingDocument processes and proactively propose improvements.Train new hires in the Legal Department on internal processes and proceduresManage outside counsel to drive resolution of legal issuesMay be required to perform other duties as assignedPhysical Requirements & Attendance:
