We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with seasoned attorneys on high-profile cases, representing some of the nation’s largest companies. **Key Responsibilities:** + **Case Management:** Assist attorneys in managing all phases of insurance defense cases, from initial case assessment through trial preparation and resolution. + **Document Preparation:** Draft, review, and finalize pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and other legal documents with a high degree of accuracy. + **Discovery Management:** Coordinate and manage the discovery process, including the collection, review, and production of documents, as well as preparing discovery responses. + **Trial Preparation:** Organize and prepare trial materials, including exhibits, witness lists, and trial notebooks. Assist with logistics and coordination during trial. + **Legal Research:** Conduct in-depth legal research to support case strategies, including researching case law, statutes, and legal precedents. + **Client and Witness Interaction:** Communicate with clients, witnesses, and experts to gather information, coordinate meetings, and prepare for depositions and trial. + **File and Records Management:** Maintain and organize physical and electronic case files, ensuring that all documents are properly filed and easily accessible. + **Scheduling:** Manage and coordinate the attorneys' calendars, including scheduling depositions, hearings, and other key appointments. + **Administrative Support:** Provide general administrative support to attorneys, including drafting correspondence, managing deadlines, and processing legal documents. **Qualifications:** + **Experience:** Minimum of 3 years of paralegal experience, preferably in insurance defense or related litigation fields. + **Education:** Paralegal Certificate or Associate’s degree in Paralegal Studies required; Bachelor’s degree preferred. + **Technical Skills:** Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with legal research databases (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis) and case management software. + **Attention to Detail:** Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines. + **Communication:** Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a professional demeanor and the ability to interact effectively with clients, attorneys, and court personnel. + **Team Collaboration:** Ability to work collaboratively with attorneys, other paralegals, and support staff to ensure the effective management of cases. + **Confidentiality:** High level of professionalism and a commitment to maintaining client confidentiality and upholding ethical standards. **Benefits:** + Competitive salary commensurate with experience + Medical, 401k, and paid vacation + Opportunities for professional development and career advancement If you are a skilled and organized Paralegal with experience in insurance defense, we invite you to apply.
