Position Description
Provide paralegal and administrative support for in-house Land and Right-of-Way legal group comprised of four attorneys
Provide legal support for Land and Right-of-Way matters, which includes:
Support of Company’s Land and Right-of-Way teams, including new internal matter intakeCoordination with outside counsel, third-party experts, and internal departments (e.g., Legal Invoicing and Accounting)
Assist with case management for Land and Right-of-Way matters
Open and manage legal mattersDraft and manage litigation record holdsAssist in preparation of budgets, accruals, and forecastsProvide legal research via Lexis+Finalize and court-file basic answers and records via eFileTexas.govManage and review document requestsPrepare, organize, and file documents and correspondenceSpecial group and departmental projects, as assigned Position Requirements
Excellent communication skills, as well as proven organizational and interpersonal skills
Good judgment and analytical skills, with the ability and initiative to problem solve and troubleshoot
Ability to set priorities, successfully track and complete tasks, multi-task, meet deadlines and maintain confidentiality
Ability to work within cross-functional teams, take direction from multiple supervisors, attend to details, adhere to established work schedule and follow work rules
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, Edge and PowerPoint; the position requires extensive use of Excel
Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat Pro, Lexis+ and Google Earth
Education/Training Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required, college degree preferred
Formal training in a paralegal certificate program or law firm experience highly desirable
Minimum of three years of direct experience as a legal assistant/paralegal working with Land and Right-of-Way matters; familiarity with pipeline encroachment matters preferred
Preferred Experience, Skills and Knowledge (above the minimum requirements; not required, but advantageous in this position)
Pipeline or Energy Industry Experience
Notary Public
Experience with legal tools, including document review platforms
Position Level to be determined based on the skills and qualifications of the selected candidate
