As a Paramedic, you will provide immediate medical treatment to injured/ill patients on-site or on the way to our hospital.

Your primary duties will include but are not limited to: 

Performing drug/fluid administration. Maintaining the equipment.  Administering appropriate emergency medical care including life support procedures and decontamination protocols. 

A caregiver in this role, will have the opportunity to work side by side with physicians and nurses, building those clinical skillset's needed to advance your career.  

The ideal caregiver is someone who: 

• Can work under minimal supervision and is motivated daily.  

• Works well in a close-knit, teambuilding environment.  

• Has a positive attitude with a willingness to learn 

• Has strong critical thinking skills. 

• Currently is licensed as an Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic (EMTP), has a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, and an Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.

A caregiver in this Day/Evening rotation works 12-hour shift on variable days.  11:00 am – 11:00 pm

A caregiver who excels in this role, will:

Obtains and records vital signs.Maintains equipment.Assesses nature and extent of illness/injury and patient's history from available sources.Determines appropriate independent or collaborative response.Administers appropriate emergency medical care including life support procedures, decontamination protocols, obtaining EKG readings and vital statistics monitoring.May perform fluid/drug administration.If on transport team, they will communicate with medical personnel at hospital, reports/records observations, and follows directives until report and hand-off at hospital.Also, they may navigate ambulance to scene of accident in response to emergency calls.Other duties as assigned.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal caregiver include:

Current licensure as an Emergency Medical Technician/Paramedic (EMT-P) in the State of Florida.Current, valid Florida driver's license (VDL) and insurable through Cleveland Clinic's liability carrier.Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification card.Current Basic Life Support (BLS) HealthCare Provider card.

Preferred qualifications for the ideal caregiver include:

One year experience as a EMT-P preferred.International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) preferred.If in an ED, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) through American Heart Association (AHA) upon hire or within one year of beginning work in the Emergency Department.

Physical Requirements:

Requires full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity with good eye-hand coordination; involves extensive standing and walking.Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
