Paramedic Ground Transport/ ShandsCair/ Part-Time/Variable
Overview The Critical Care Ground Transport Paramedic (CCGTP) is responsible for assessment, triage, treatment and evaluation of interfacility patients during transport by ground. The CCGTP must function autonomously utilizing medical protocols and advanced skills under the direction of the medical director. The CCGTP utilizes clinical process to provide comprehensive care to the patient and documents that process on the patient record. The CCGTP serves as a resource for other team members by sharing skills and clinical knowledge. The CCGTP must be effective with communication, skills, and able to work positively in a high stress environment with patients, peers, families and other internal/external personnel. The CCGTP must also possess excellent interpersonal skills as s/he is instrumental in providing community outreach and education. The CCGTP is responsible for carrying out the mission and goals of Shands Healthcare/ShandsCair assuring that safety remains the highest priority throughout the transport continuum. The CCGTP shall be a proficient team member on ground transports. An employee assigned to this classification is the lead worker on an ALS Critical Care ambulance who is responsible for rendering initial evaluations of patients and performing advanced life support and/or Critical Care procedures on the sick or injured. He is responsible for supervising and evaluating assigned drivers. Qualifications Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: Current certification as EMT-Paramedic in the State of Florida required. Specialty certifications required upon hire: BLS; ACLS; PALS. Preferred or obtained within 1 year of hire ITLS or PHTLS. 2 years pre-hospital Paramedic experience preferred. Demonstrated clinical skills in pre-hospital and critical care transport preferred. CCEMT-P, UFCCP, or FP-C, and NRP preferred and required within one year of employment. Instructor statuses in certifications preferred. Must possess a valid Florida Driver's License and certification of completion of a Florida approved EVOC driving course. Motor Vehicle Operator Designation: Employees in this position: Will operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose as a 'frequent driver' Licensure/Certification/Registration: EMT-Paramedic certification in the State of Florida. CCEMT-P, UFCCP, or FP-C, and NRP preferred and required within one year of employment. Instructor statuses in certifications preferred. Must possess a valid Florida Driver's License and certification of completion of a Florida approved EVOC driving course.
